Assigning a parking spot

Last updated: November 4, 2026

Assign a parking spot to a resident, a unit, or one vehicle, so ParkingPass knows who can park there. Once assigned, the resident can report unauthorized vehicles in their spot.

Who can do this: Property managers. Available on: the Enterprise package, with Assigned Parking turned on.

Before you start

  • Make sure you see Assigned Parking in the left sidebar. If you don't, email support@parkingpass.com to turn it on.

  • Decide how to assign the spot. A unit assignment lets any registered vehicle in that unit use it. A vehicle assignment lets only that vehicle use it.

Steps

To assign a spot to a resident or unit

  1. Go to Assigned Parking in the left sidebar.

  2. Find the spot you want to assign.

  3. Open the spot's action menu and assign it to the resident or unit.

  4. Save.

To assign a spot to one vehicle

  1. Open the resident's account and select the vehicle.

  2. Edit the vehicle's details.

  3. Choose Vehicle as the assignment type.

  4. Select the parking spot and save.

What happens next

The assignment takes effect right away. The resident can see the spot on their profile and file Assigned Parking Tow Requests for unauthorized vehicles in it.

Important notes

  • Assignments stay in place through applications, vehicle changes, and renewals.

  • With a unit assignment, the same spot can appear on more than one of the unit's vehicles. That's expected.

  • Some communities limit each unit to one spot.
