Guest pass FAQs

Quick answers to common questions about guest passes.
My guest's vehicle shows as restricted. What do I do?
Check the plate's state on the guest's registration and correct it if it's missing or wrong. That usually clears the restriction. See How restricted guest vehicles work.
My guest was towed or got a violation, but they had a pass. What now?
Check whether the pass was active, for the right plate, when the violation was issued. If it was, follow the dispute process. If it had expired or was for another plate, the violation stands. See Citation disputes overview.
Why do I keep getting emails and texts about my guest's pass?
They're expiration reminders, sent so you can extend or renew if needed. They stop once the pass expires. See How guest pass expiration reminders work.
A resident says they never got the expiration reminders. How do I check?
Open their profile and check View Email Log and View SMS Log under Quick Actions. If the reminders were sent, update any outdated email or phone number on the profile.
My guest never got their confirmation email. Where do I look?
In the host resident's Email Log, since guest emails are logged there. If it was delivered, ask the guest to check their spam folder.
How do I extend my guest's visit by another week?
Extend the pass from My Guest Passes, if your community allows it. If not, issue a new pass when this one ends. See Extending a guest pass.
My guest switched rental cars. Can I change the plate?
No. End the original pass and create a new one for the new plate.
My guest can't register from the invitation. What can I do?
Send a new invitation, or register the guest yourself with Register Guest/Rental using the details they give you.
How do I give my guest the parking policy in writing?
Download it as a PDF from View Parking Policy in your portal, or the Parking Policy button on My Account / Vehicles. Then forward it to your guest.
Do guest-only accounts have to pay for parking?
Yes, in communities where residents pay for parking. Guest-only accounts are different from guest passes. A "Guest Only" account can register guest passes but has no resident vehicle, and the label doesn't change its guest privileges.
