Refund policy
Last updated: November 4, 2026
ParkingPass issues refunds only in a limited set of cases, like approved disputes and confirmed errors. Refunds aren't the default outcome.
This is a summary for property managers and residents. The full, official policy is at app.parkingpass.com/resident/refund-policy. Always defer to it for exact terms.
What's covered
Refunds are issued when:
A dispute is approved. If a resident or guest disputes a citation, boot, or tow and the dispute is Approved, the charge is refunded automatically. See Citation disputes overview.
ParkingPass Support confirms a software error. For example, a double charge, a wrong amount, or a payment on the wrong account.
The payment processor reports an error. For example, a transaction that was captured incorrectly.
A resident pays twice by accident. For example, checking out in two browser tabs. The duplicate is refunded once verified.
A property manager requests one and it's approved. In some cases, usually tied to a community policy decision, a property manager can ask ParkingPass Support for a refund on a resident's behalf. Approval isn't guaranteed.
What isn't covered
Refunds aren't issued for:
Unused days on an active permit.
Permits ended early, including when a resident moves out before the permit's end date, manually or through a scheduled move-out.
Unused guest passes.
Guest passes ended early.
Changed plans or buyer's remorse.
Late fees applied after the grace period. See Permit expiration, grace period, and late fees.
Automatic renewals the resident no longer needed, for example after moving out without ending the permit. Residents should turn off automatic payments before they move out.
How to request a refund
See Requesting a refund.
State-specific rules
Where state sales tax was charged, the tax is refunded along with the refunded amount. See State compliance overview.
Important notes
Refunds go back to the original payment method.
The refund amount depends on the reason. It's usually the full charge for an approved dispute or a confirmed error, or a prorated amount where the policy allows.
Most refunds appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on the bank.
The resident gets a confirmation email, and the refund appears in their Payment History.
When a lease ends before a permit would, ParkingPass prorates the permit price at purchase, so no refund is needed. See Lease expiring before a parking permit.
Property managers can't issue refunds from the dashboard. Refunds come from dispute outcomes or through ParkingPass Support.
