Paying for a parking permit
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Residents pay for their parking permits from their own ParkingPass account once their application is approved. Share these steps when a resident asks how to pay, activate, or renew a permit.
Who can do this: Residents.
Before you start
The resident's application must be approved. Payment options don't appear until it is. See Reviewing a new resident application.
The resident needs a card. They can add a new one or use a saved one at checkout.
Steps
Sign in at app.parkingpass.com.
Click Payment System+ in the left sidebar.
Click Make a Payment.
Scroll to the Parking Permits section.
Select each vehicle being activated or renewed.
Click Checkout.
Review the Order Preview.
Click Proceed to Checkout.
Add a new card or choose a saved one, then complete the payment.
What happens next
As soon as the payment goes through:
The permit activates right away.
A confirmation appears on screen.
The resident gets a confirmation email.
The receipt appears under Payment History.
Important notes
Residents can turn on automatic recurring payments at checkout. This helps avoid permit lapses and late fees. See Permit expiration, grace period, and late fees.
Prices come from your community's settings, including tiered pricing if it's turned on. See Parking permit prices and Tiered pricing overview.
ParkingPass doesn't store card information. Payments are handled by a secure payment processor.
Refunds follow the Refund policy.
Troubleshooting
If the payment fails, the permit stays inactive until a payment goes through. See A resident's permit payment failed.
If the billing address doesn't verify, the resident can select Use different billing address than profile address and enter the address exactly as it appears on their card statement.
