Violation and citation reports overview
Last updated: November 4, 2026
The violation and citation reports show every enforcement action in your community, what's been paid or is still owed, and where each dispute stands. Use them to look up a specific violation, track revenue, and work your dispute queue.

How it works
Violation Report
The full list of enforcement actions — warnings, citations, boots, and tows — for a date range you choose. Each row shows ticket number, license plate, vehicle, violation reason, final action, date, patroller, and status. The action menu includes View Violation, Add Photos, Remove Resident, and Remove Violation.
Filter by violation type, Patroller, and date range, or search by plate, vehicle, or resident. Exclude Archived is on by default.
Use it to investigate a specific violation, filter by type (like all tows in the last 30 days), or export enforcement activity for a board meeting. You can also open it from View Violations on the dashboard's Violations Past 7 Days widget.
Citation Report
This one is often misunderstood. The Citation Report is a payment and accounts-receivable view of citations and boots, not a list of every citation.
Five summary cards at the top show Total Amount, Paid, Unpaid, Refunded, and Cancelled, each with a dollar amount and a count of payments. Rows show Issued date, Property, Tag, Ticket, Vehicle Type, Vehicle, Status, Dispute status, In Collection, Amount, a Violation link, and Activity.
Filter by Property, Status, Vehicle Type, and Date Range. Use Export, Export ICS Debt, and Import for debt management.
Use it to track citation revenue, compare what's owed with what's paid, find citations in collections, and reconcile for accounting or board reports.
Citation Dispute Report
The status of every dispute filed in your community: open, pending, resolved, or expired. Use it to work the dispute queue daily, track how quickly you respond, and spot disputes close to their deadline. You can also open it from the Citation Disputes widget on the dashboard.
Who can use it
Property managers. Some reports may vary depending on your community's configuration and your user role.
Where to find it
Go to Reports in the left sidebar, then Patrol.
What you can do with it
Handle a dispute from start to finish — see Citation disputes overview.
Handle a tow and its follow-up — see Tows overview.
Prepare for a board meeting — see Running a board-ready review.
Common questions
A resident is on the phone about their tow. Where do I look?
Open the Violation Report and search by plate or filter to tows. Open the matching row to see the violation reason, time, and photos. Then check the resident's permit or guest pass status on their profile. If they want to contest it, see Citation disputes overview.
How much is outstanding in unpaid citations?
Open the Citation Report and read the Unpaid card. Filter by Date Range to see how much is recent and how much is older. For collections, use Export ICS Debt.
How many tows did we have last month?
Open the Violation Report, filter to tows, and set the date range to last month.
I need every citation in date order. Which report do I use?
The Violation Report, filtered to citations. The Citation Report tracks payment status and totals, not chronological activity.
I can't find an older violation. Where is it?
It may be archived. In the Violation Report, switch Exclude Archived to include archived violations.
What should I pull for a quarterly board meeting or year-end audit?
Pull Patrol Analytics for the overall picture (see Patrol reports overview). Add the Violation Report for the full enforcement record and the Citation Report for the financial picture. Finish with the Citation Dispute Report for dispute outcomes. Set each one to the same date range and export what you need.
Important notes
The same enforcement event can appear in several reports. A tow shows up in the Violation Report as an action, and in the Citation Report if a fee is attached.
Date ranges don't carry over between reports. Set the date range again on each report you open.
If you're viewing All Properties, some reports may not load until you choose one property in the property selector.
