Parking Permits

ParkingPass uses digital parking e-permits to authorize vehicles. These permits are tied directly to vehicle data — no physical permit is required unless the property independently issues decals.

How E-Permits Identify Vehicles

Approved vehicles are authorized using:

  • The registered license plate number

  • The last six characters of the vehicle’s VIN

Enforcement vendors utilize License Plate Reader (LPR) technology to validate authorized vehicles during patrol.

When a Vehicle Becomes Authorized

A vehicle becomes authorized once:

  • The resident application is approved, and

  • An active e-permit is assigned to the vehicle

Authorization is immediate upon approval within the system.

Physical Permits

ParkingPass operates through digital plate recognition. If physical decals are used, they are managed according to property policy and are not required for system authorization.

As long as:

  • Vehicle information is entered accurately, and

  • The e-permit is active

The license plate serves as the parking credential.

Configuration & Contract Alignment

E-permit structure, pricing, and enforcement configuration are established during onboarding and, for some properties, are tied to contractual agreements.

Changes to permit configuration must be coordinated through ParkingPass Support in collaboration with the Account Management team to ensure alignment with the property’s agreement and enforcement setup.

Important Notes

  • Enforcement vendors rely on plate and VIN data during validation.

  • Incorrect or outdated vehicle information can result in enforcement.

  • Vehicle data should be updated promptly when plates or vehicles change.

  • Permit structure and pricing are determined by property configuration.

  • Refunds are not offered for unused days, or permits that are ended early.
