Enable Guest Passes When a Resident Has No Registered Vehicle

This article explains how to allow a user to register guest passes when they do not have a registered resident vehicle, by converting the account to Guest Only access when appropriate.

When to Use This

Use this option when:

  • A user reports they cannot add a guest pass

  • The system indicates a resident vehicle is required, but none is registered

  • Your property allows guest passes for users without resident vehicles

  • The user only needs guest parking access

When Not to Use This

Do not use this option if:

  • The user needs to register a long-term or resident vehicle

  • Your property does not allow guest passes under current rules

  • The user should retain full resident vehicle registration access

Preferred Method: Property Manager Self-Service

Property managers should complete this action directly whenever possible.

  1. Open the Property in the portal

  2. Search for the resident or unit

  3. Open the Quick Actions dropdown (top-right of the user’s profile)

  4. Select Convert to Guest Only

Once converted, the user will be able to register and manage guest passes only, in accordance with your property’s rules.

Important Notes

  • Guest Only users cannot register resident parking vehicles

  • Guest Only users are limited to guest passes only

  • Always confirm your property’s parking rules before converting access

  • This change is best managed by the property, not residents

  • Guest Only may still be priced similar to a parking permit, for use of the software and the ability to register guests.
