Assigned Parking is a property configuration where specific parking spots are reserved for specific residents. Properties with deeded spaces, premium garage spots, or numbered spaces use this feature to track who is assigned to which spot.

What Assigned Parking Does
When Assigned Parking is enabled at your property, ParkingPass tracks:
Which spots exist at your property.
Which resident or unit is assigned to each spot.
Which spots are currently available, occupied, or listed for rent.
This information powers a few downstream features:
The Parking Spot Marketplace, where residents can rent unused spots.
Assigned Parking Tow Requests, where residents report unauthorized vehicles in their assigned spot.

Accessing Assigned Parking
Open Assigned Parking from the left sidebar. The Assigned Parking page shows:
Your full inventory of spots.
Each spot's current assignment (resident, unit, or available).
Filters to find specific spots or residents.
Options to assign, reassign, or release spots.
Assigning a Spot to a Resident
To assign a specific spot:
Open Assigned Parking.
Locate the spot you want to assign.
Use the action menu to assign it to a resident or unit.
Save.
The assignment takes effect immediately. The resident can then file Assigned Parking Tow Requests against unauthorized vehicles in their spot.
Releasing or Reassigning a Spot
If a resident moves out, downgrades, or no longer needs their spot:
Open Assigned Parking.
Locate the spot.
Use the action menu to Release the spot or Reassign it to a different resident.
Released spots become available again and can be reassigned or listed on the Parking Spot Marketplace.
The Parking Spot Marketplace
The Marketplace is built on top of Assigned Parking — it lets you rent out unused spots to residents, guests, or the public, depending on your visibility settings. To use the Marketplace, Assigned Parking must be configured first.

Assigned Parking Tow Requests
When a resident with an assigned spot finds an unauthorized vehicle parked in it, they can submit a tow request directly from their portal. This requires Assigned Parking to be enabled and the resident to have a configured spot.

Common Questions
Does my property have Assigned Parking?
If you see Assigned Parking in your left sidebar, yes. If you don't see it, your property is configured for unassigned (open) parking. Contact [email protected] if you'd like to enable it.
Can a resident have more than one assigned spot?
Yes, depending on your property's configuration. Some properties limit it to one spot per unit; others allow multiple.
What happens to assigned spots when a resident moves out?
The spot is automatically released when the resident is moved out (either immediately or via Future Move-Out). It then becomes available for reassignment. See Managing Future Move Outs.
Can I see assigned-parking utilization data on my dashboard?
Yes. The Taken Spots / Total Spots widget on the dashboard shows your current assignment count and Spot Utilization percentage.
How do residents know which spot is theirs?
Residents can see their assigned spot on their account profile. Many properties also use physical signage or numbered painted spots in the lot.
Important Notes
Assigned Parking must be enabled at the property level. Properties not configured for it won't see the menu item.
Spot assignments are stored at the property level and persist across resident applications, vehicle changes, and renewals.
If your property uses Assigned Parking but residents have never seen the option to file a tow request, confirm their account has a spot assigned.
