How guest parking settings work
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Guest parking settings control how guest passes work at your community, including limits, timing, and whether guests pay. They're set during onboarding and applied automatically.
How it works
Communities usually use one of three setups:
Free with limits: Guest passes are free up to a set limit.
Paid: Every guest pass has a fee.
Hybrid: Guest passes are free up to a limit, then paid.
Your community's setup is built from these settings:
Consecutive day limit: How many days in a row a guest vehicle can park before it's restricted. See How restricted guest vehicles work.
Future guest pass rules: How far ahead residents can schedule a guest pass, and whether future passes count toward a limit through the end of a period, such as the end of the month.
Reset frequency: How often guest limits reset, such as daily, weekly, or monthly.
Time increments: The pass lengths residents can choose, such as hourly, daily, or multi-day.
Free passes before charges: How many free guest passes a resident gets before fees start, for paid or hybrid setups.
Resident pass limit: How many guest passes each resident can create in a period.
Where to find it
Open Parking Policy from the dashboard, or go to Manage Property Settings and review the guest parking settings.
What you can do with it
Check your community's limits when a resident can't register a guest. See A resident can't register a guest pass.
Create a pass past a resident's limit when needed. See Overriding a guest pass limit.
Request a change to your settings by emailing support@parkingpass.com. Support works with your Account Manager to keep the change in line with your enforcement setup and contract.
Important notes
Guest settings were set during onboarding and may be tied to your community's agreement.
Limits and restrictions are applied automatically.
Patrol officers check guest pass status when they check vehicles.
Changing your settings can affect enforcement and what residents are charged.
