Editing or replacing a resident vehicle
Last updated: November 4, 2026
Residents update or replace a registered vehicle from their own ParkingPass account, for example after buying a new car or getting a new plate. Share these steps when a resident asks how to change their vehicle.
Who can do this: Residents.
Before you start
The resident needs the new or corrected vehicle details, like the license plate, make, model, and color.
Steps
Click the Residents section in the side menu.
Select All Residents to access the complete list of current residents.
Click on a resident's name to open their detailed profile and vehicle information.
Use the Vehicle Actions dropdown to view options for updating vehicle details.
Choose Edit Vehicle to make changes to the selected vehicle's information.
Click Submit to save the updated vehicle information.
What happens next
The updated vehicle may show a management review status. Property managers see the request in the Vehicle Change Requests widget on their dashboard.
Vehicles with a pending change request may park while they wait for approval.
Once the change is approved, the permit transfers to the updated vehicle and the old vehicle is removed automatically.
If your community uses physical decals, a new one may be issued for the updated vehicle.
Important notes
To take a vehicle off an account without replacing it, see Deleting resident vehicles.
Review vehicle changes promptly to avoid enforcement against a vehicle that's waiting for approval.
